สารจากสมาคมนักข่าวนักหนังสือพิมพ์แห่งประเทศไทยถึงสมาคมนักข่าวเมียนมา
ขอแสดงความห่วงใยต่อสถานการณ์ความรุนแรงและความไม่สงบในประเทศเมียนมา ซึ่งส่งผลกระทบต่อสวัสดิภาพและความปลอดภัยของประชาชนและสื่อมวลชนในประเทศ อีกทั้งเป็นอุปสรรคต่อเสรีภาพในการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ของสื่อมวลชนชาวเมียนมา
สมาคมนักข่าวนักหนังสือพิมพ์แห่งประเทศไทยขอส่งความปรารถนาดีไปยังสื่อมวลชนและประชาชนชาวเมียนมา ขอให้สถานการณ์ความเลวร้ายที่เป็นอยู่ผ่านพ้นไปด้วยความสงบสันติ บนพื้นฐานของการเคารพความคิดเห็นร่วมของประชาชน และเคารพการปฏิบัติตามหน้าที่ของสื่อมวลชนตามวิชาชีพ หวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่าสถานการณ์ในประเทศเมียนมาจะเปลี่ยนผ่านไปสู่ทางที่ดีในเร็ววัน

President, Myanmar Journalists Association (MJA)
As the State of Emergency has been declared in Myanmar on Monday 1 February, we realized that this might be a difficult time for the Myanmar people and the media. On behalf of the Thai Journalists Association (TJA), I would like to reaffirm our support to the Myanmar Journalists Association in enhancing the performance of professional media in Myanmar.
We would like to express concerns about the safety of members of the media in case of violent situation, and also the limitation of freedom of the press during this period. However, we hope that all the people are safe and the journalists are still able to perform their duties professionally without any harm or threat.
Meanwhile, we would like to encourage all parties to respect each other in performing duties professionally, and agree that any use of violence is unacceptable.
May we hereby express our wish that all the Myanmar people, all parties including the press, will be able to pass through this difficult time gracefully.
